This week we enter the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost, with worship at 8:00 a.m. (Rite I) and 10:00 a.m. (Rite II with music). Both services will be led by our clergy, and all are invited to Coffee Hour following.

The Women’s Group extends gratitude to Mimi Lawless for hosting afternoon tea on June 21, welcoming parishioners including Fr. Lucey and his wife Katherine. The group will next host a Welcome Reception for Fr. Weston Mathews on September 8, marking the beginning of his leadership at St. Francis. Many thanks are also offered for the successful Diaper Drive for Cornerstones.

Other highlights from this edition include:

  • A school supply drive to benefit Second Story, providing backpacks and essential supplies for 1,400 children and teens in need. Donations can be made through checks, PayPal, or direct drop-offs, with the drive ending August 4.

  • Notes from the inaugural Women’s Group tea, including plans for the Fall Marketplace Treasure Trove, a potential National Cathedral tour, and creative new events like a Women’s Group Pickleball Party.

  • An invitation for parishioners to join worship ministries as readers, ushers, chalice bearers, or children’s chapel leaders beginning in September.

  • Regular offerings of prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and Second Story Dinners, providing spaces for ongoing community and spiritual growth.

Closing:
With new leadership on the horizon, ongoing outreach, and creative fellowship opportunities, the life of St. Francis continues to thrive in worship and service.
