This week we prepare for the Third Sunday in Lent, with services at 8:00 a.m. (Rite I) and 10:00 a.m. (Rite II with music). Children’s Chapel will be offered during the sermon, Coffee Hour follows each service, and the 10:00 service will be livestreamed.

Highlights include:

  • Via Crucis Concert: On Saturday, March 22, join us at 7:00 p.m. for a moving performance of Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) by Franz Liszt, presented by organist Sasha Beresovsky, the St. Francis Choir, and soloists. This rare piece pairs piano, choral movements, and Renaissance paintings for a profound meditation on Christ’s Passion.

  • Fall Marketplace Planning: The first organizational meeting for the October 18 Fall Marketplace will be held March 23 after the 10:00 service.

  • Lenten Series: The Apocryphal Jesus film series continues Sundays with potluck suppers and Great Courses lectures by Dr. David Brakke. Upcoming topics include the Infancy Gospel of Thomas, the Gospel of Thomas, and the Gospel of Judas.

  • Rise Against Hunger: Mark your calendars for March 28, when we’ll package 20,088 meals as a parish and community.

  • Other opportunities: Living with Grief group (March 25), Evening Prayer via Zoom, Samaritan Ministry’s Next Step Breakfast (March 29), and Amadeus Concerts’ Peabody Premieres on April 6.

Closing:
As Lent deepens, we are called into prayer, service, and preparation for Easter. Join us this weekend in worship and at the Via Crucis concert for a unique spiritual journey.
