March 13, 2025 Newsletter

This week we mark the Second Sunday in Lent, March 16. Services are at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., with Riley K. Temple preaching and Fr. Weston presiding. Coffee Hour follows each service, and the 10:00 service is livestreamed.

Highlights include:

  • Special Guest Preacher: Riley K. Temple will speak at both morning services, offering reflections from his work in art, theology, and cultural life.

  • Sunday Evening Lenten Series: The Apocryphal Jesus begins March 16 with a potluck supper and video lectures by Dr. David Brakke. Topics will include the Proto-Gospel of James, the Gospel of Thomas, and the Gospel of Judas.

  • Black Tie Dinner & Auction Success: Thanks to parishioners’ generosity, this year’s March 1 gala raised over $29,000 in net income for outreach and parish support. Funds will be shared between the Diocese of Ezo, outreach in North Carolina, and parish ministry.

  • Evening Prayer in Lent: Beginning March 17, Evening Prayer will be offered via Zoom each weekday at 5:00 p.m., in addition to Morning Prayer.

  • Women’s Group: Friday coffee continues at Starbucks in Great Falls. All are welcome to stop by.

  • Special Events: Women’s Spring Equinox Hike on March 20; Women’s Annual Retreat at Shrine Mont June 6–8.

  • Via Crucis Concert: On March 22, Sasha Beresovsky and the St. Francis Choir will perform Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis. Free and open to the public.

  • Rise Against Hunger: March 28 will bring together 100 volunteers to assemble 20,088 meals for communities in need.

  • Other updates: Creche Mother’s Teas March 17–20; parish search underway for a Director of Family Ministries; Josh House announced as summer intern; Bishop Isaac and Mama Nora visit planned for 2026.

Closing:
With Lent underway, we give thanks for worship, study, service, and the joy of fellowship. May this season deepen our life in Christ and our mission in the world.
