This week we begin the holy season of Lent with the First Sunday in Lent, March 9. Services will be offered at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with choir, and Children’s Chapel during the sermon. Coffee Hour follows each service, and the 10:00 service will be livestreamed.
Key announcements include:
Daylight Savings Reminder: Clocks spring forward one hour on March 9. Be sure to adjust Saturday night so you won’t be late for worship.
Second Sunday Contemplative Worship: Join us March 9 at 6:30 p.m. for contemplative prayer, silence, and Holy Communion from the Iona Celtic tradition. This month’s reflector will be Joe Hawke.
Paragon Philharmonia Concert: On April 5, Sasha Beresovsky joins the Paragon Philharmonia Piano Quintet for a performance featuring works by Pedro Giraudo and Antonín Dvořák.
Special Lenten Guest Preacher: Riley K. Temple will preach at both services on March 16, sharing from his deep experience in theology, art, and culture.
Sunday Evening Lenten Series: The Apocryphal Jesus begins March 16 with fellowship suppers and video lectures by Dr. David Brakke.
Via Crucis Concert: On March 22, St. Francis hosts a performance of Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis, featuring Sasha Beresovsky, choir, and soloists.
Outreach & Community Events: Living with Grief resumes March 25; Rise Against Hunger on March 28; Samaritan Ministry’s Next Step Breakfast on March 29; Bishop Isaac and Mama Nora’s 2026 visit fundraising continues.
