This week brings the Fourth Sunday in Lent, with services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., both led by Fr. Weston Mathews. Children’s Chapel will be offered at 10:00, Coffee Hour follows, and the service will be livestreamed.

Key updates include:

  • Giving Thanks for Via Crucis: Our March 22 performance of Franz Liszt’s Via Crucis was a moving, emotional success, featuring Sasha Beresovsky, the St. Francis Choir, and soloists. Thank you to all who attended and supported this powerful Lenten offering.

  • Rise Against Hunger: On March 28, from 6:30–8:30 p.m., St. Francis will host a community-wide meal-packing event to assemble 20,088 meals. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate.

  • Easter Preparations: Contributions are invited for music and altar flowers, either in memory or thanksgiving. Please submit gifts by Palm Sunday.

  • Next Step Breakfast: On March 29, join Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington at the National Press Club for their annual breakfast. Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde will be keynote speaker.

  • Ongoing Formation: The Sunday evening Lenten film series continues March 30 and April 6, exploring the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Judas.

Closing:
As Holy Week nears, St. Francis continues to grow in prayer, fellowship, and outreach. Thank you for making our Lenten journey meaningful together.
