This week, St. Francis gathers for the Fifth Sunday in Lent. Services are at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. with music and choir, Children’s Chapel during the sermon, Coffee Hour after worship, and livestream access at 10:00.
The newsletter also highlights our full Holy Week and Easter schedule:
Palm Sunday (April 13) – Eucharist at 8:00 and 10:00, and a contemplative service at 5:00.
Maundy Thursday (April 17) – Eucharist with choir and altar guild at 7:00 p.m.
Good Friday (April 18) – services at noon, the GFAM “Seven Last Words” at Dranesville Church, and Tenebrae at St. John’s, McLean at 7:00 p.m.
Easter Sunday (April 20) – multiple Eucharists with choir and Festal Brass, an Easter Egg Hunt, and Potluck Brunch.
Other highlights include:
Concerts: Sasha Beresovsky and Paragon Philharmonia’s Piano Quintet (April 5), and Amadeus Concerts’ Peabody Premieres (April 6).
Lenten Series: The Apocryphal Jesus continues with “The Gospel of Judas” on April 6.
Community Life: Easter music and flower donations, Easter brunch and egg hunt preparations, and Living with Grief on April 8.
Outreach & Fellowship: Blood drive in honor of Lilly Joy Kishore (April 13), contemplative worship April 13, and Rise Against Hunger on March 28.
