September 11, 2025 Newsletter
As we move into the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the Season of Creation’s focus on “Learn,” St. Francis invites parishioners to worship on September 14 at 8:00 a.m. (Rite I) and 10:00 a.m. (Rite II with choir). Father Weston will preach and celebrate. Coffee hour follows each service, and the 10:00 service will be livestreamed.
This Sunday is also Kick-Off Sunday, a day of joy and renewal for our parish life. Children and youth are encouraged to bring their bookbags to receive a special blessing and St. Francis tag. The Welcome Brunch in Millen Hall will follow the 10:00 service, alongside the Ministry Fair, where parishioners can explore new opportunities to serve and grow in faith.
Other highlights include:
A Second Sunday Contemplative Worship Service on September 14 at 5:00 p.m., with reflection, music, and Holy Communion in the Celtic tradition.
The annual stewardship campaign, with Pledge Sunday set for October 26. Packets are arriving early this year to support parish planning.
Bishop Isaac of Ezo sending thanks for St. Francis’ support of refugees in South Sudan, made possible by March’s Black Tie Gala.
Preparations for the Fall Marketplace, with a volunteer craft workshop scheduled for September 15.
A Rise Against Hunger meal-packing event on September 26, where 90 volunteers are needed to help prepare more than 20,000 meals.
The “Songs of Devotion and Dedication” concert featuring Olivia Vote and Sasha Beresovsky on September 27.
Regular formation, outreach, and fellowship opportunities continue, from Living with Grief and Second Story dinners to Bible studies, prayer groups, and weekly social gatherings.
Closing:
This is a season of joyful renewal — join us in worship, bring a friend to the Welcome Brunch, and discover new ways to serve through St. Francis’ many ministries.
