Announcements

ADULT FORUM ON SUNDAYS
Our classes for adults take place in Millen Hall, concurrently with Sunday School, at 9:00 am on most Sundays. We discuss a variety of topics including Scripture, current events, and ministries of the church and the local community. This winter our theme will be the Ten Commandments: God’s words for our life. Each Sunday one of the clergy or our seminarian will take one commandment (or two, on one occasion), and reflect on some aspect of it.

This Sunday the Adult Forum will focus on the Third Commandment. "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain": mindfulness. Click here for the current schedule.

SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY:
God's Word, Up Close and Personal
St. Francis has a weekly Bible Study at 11:15am in the conference room across from the Rector's office. All are welcome; there is no need to be a "regular."  Drop in when the Spirit moves you!  Current plans are to focus primarily on the Gospel of Luke (concurrent with this year's Lectionary), with some exceptions. Sunday the group will take a look at Luke, chapter 5.

Preparation is simple. Read and reflect on the appointed passage, and bring your study Bibles. The idea is to let God's Word speak to us each individually, and share those insights with the broader group. As you reflect on the chosen passage, ponder the following: What is going on? What meaning does it hold for you today -- i.e., "how does it speak to you?" What does it hold for our faith? And how might it mystically bring us closer to God?
